Glimpse of Vietnam: Mekong Delta and the island of Phu Quoc

This morning you will be picked up by your private guide and driver. Along the way we will stop at a small rice paper factory. Drive to Tay Ninh where you will visit the main church of Cao Daism. This religion, which is unique to Vietnam, is a universal faith with the principle that all religions have one same divine origin. You will arrive in Tay Ninh in time to witness the noon mass which is a colorful spectacle.
 
After the mass has finished you will visit the Cu Chi Tunnels. During the Vietnam war the Vietcong dug out an extensive tunnel complex that served as a sanctuary in the fight against American forces. Part of the complex has been left in its original state. You can crawl through these tunnels, a harrowing experience indeed. Transfer back to your accommodations in Ho Chi Minh City, where you arrive late in the afternoon.

Day 4
HCM - My Tho - Ben Tre province

Depart early in the morning. Upon arrival at My Tho, take a boat to cruise along natural creeks and quiet villages in Ben Tre Province to visit coconut candy and rice paper factory Continue moving to An Khanh (Ben Tre) by boat, and then walk along the nicest rural village in Ben Tre on the way to one of the local houses to enjoy the taste of honey tea and fresh fruits while listening to the traditional music of "Tai Tu" - the lovely and romantic melody of one of the tribes in Mekong Delta. Lunch will be served at the local house. Rowing on sampans (small boat) along the canals of Mekong river

Day 5
Ben Tre - An Binh Island

Today we drive to Cai Be. We will board a local boat that will take us to An Binh Island. First we will visit the small Cai Be floating Market and then make a beautiful boat trip to An Binh Island. There will be time to visit a local house and a fruit orchard along the way. Having lunch at the homestay. Free at leisure to explore life style at island in the afternoon.

At evening, you can join to prepare dinner or chat with your hosts.

Day 6
An Binh Island - Cantho
Meals: B L
In the morning you will embark on a one hour bicycle trip on An Binh Island. After this you will board a local boat for the short trip to Vinh Long. We will visit the fascinating and colorful local market of Vinh Long before and continuing to Cantho, the political and economic centre of the Mekong Delta.
After arrival in Cantho we will have lunch at Sao Hom restaurant. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 7
Cantho - Chau Doc

This morning we depart very early to visit the most interesting floating market of the Mekong Delta, the Cai Rang Market. You will board a local boat and float through the market where local people sell their fruits and vegetables on boats of all sizes imaginable. Return to the hotel to have breakfast and check out. You will continue to Long Xuyen. Lunch at Long Xuyen. Drive to Chau Doc to check in at your hotel.
You will visit Sam Mountain, a holy mountain which really stands out in the flat rice paddies. You will visit some of the many shrines and temples on the slopes of the mountain, amongst others the Ba Chua Xu and the Tay An Pagoda.

Day 8
Chau Doc - Rach Gia - Phu Quoc Island

Today we depart to Rach Gia at 08:00.
Say goodbye to your guide and board the Superdong Ferry to Phu Quoc Island. The ferry will leave at 1300 and will take about two and half hours to Phu Quoc Island

Upon arrival you will meet your driver who will transfer you to your resort.
